Welcome Home...

The membership of our Association is open to:

  • All current or retired secretaries, office volunteers, and other staff of a cooperating church that financially supports any program, institution, or agency of the Baptist State Convention of NC, and secretaries, office volunteers, or other office staff of associations, denominational agencies, institutions, departments, organizations, and the convention of the state.
  • Members of Baptist churches who may be considered as potential Baptist denominational secretaries.
  • Office staff personnel of other denominations who desire to become members of the Association, but will not be eligible for election as a state officer.

Members are entitled to voting privileges and receive NCBSA newsletters. Membership dues are $25 annually and are included in the program fee if you attend the annual conference in November.

Meet the Officers (Click on an officer's name to email them.)

President – Pam Shoaf: Pam is the Ministry Assistant for Jersey Baptist church where she has served since 1998. She is responsible for the bulletin, newsletter and various duties as called upon. She is active in the church serving as organist and pianist at a local nursing home. Her real joy is leading the handbell choir. In August 2003, Pam completed the Professional Certification for Ministry Assistants and ha been a member of the North Carolina Baptist Secretaries Association for ten years.

Pam and her husband, Sammy, have been married for 27 years, and they have two children, two graddaughters and two grandsons. Pam enjoys spending time with her faily, pets, waterking, crafts and reading.

President Elect - Brenda Boyles: Brenda is the daughter of a Baptist Minister who had a great impact on her life. At the age of six she made the choice to follow Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She is an active member of Pitts Baptist Church, serving on the Women’s Ministry Leadership team, choir member, and desires to do more in the ministry of her church.

Brenda has served in several churches as pianist/organist. She has served on Mission Teams, and other Ministry Teams within the church and Cabarrus Baptist Association, and served as secretary/treasurer for NCBSA 2006-2007.

Brenda has been married 37 years to her husband Don, a Godly, loving and caring man. They were never blessed with children but have a beautiful cat Abigail (Abby) who keeps them laughing at the unending gifts she has waiting for them each morning when they awake. Even though they have no children Brenda is an adopted grandmother to 5 year old Lacie Wadford.

Hobbies are crafts, flower arranging, decorating, and cooking (when time permits).

Brenda has been blessed to serve on staff at Cabarrus Baptist Association since 1998, and completed the Professional Certification for Ministry Assistants.

Brenda’s desire is to serve God and fulfill her responsibilities by living a joy filled life of complete dependence on Him and reaching out to others with love, compassion and understanding.

Second Vice President (Two Year Term)Brenda Duke: Brenda has served as Administrative Assistant for Saluda First Baptist Church since 2005. She is responsible for the weekly bulletins, prayer list, contribution, financial records & newsletters, announcements, and other various duties. She is active in church, loves working with children in Sunday School, as well as serving as co-leader of the women’s ministry. Brenda is also a future Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, which is a company and a position the she loves because it encourages women to put God first, family second and career third.

Brenda has been married to her wonderful husband, Alan since 1972, is the proud mother of two wonderful children – Dustin, 32 and Andrea, 30; and Grandmother of two precious granddaughters – Riley Paige, 5 and Ainsley, 3. She loves spending time with her family. Her hobbies include, but are not limited to: painting, crafts, sewing, cooking, gardening, decorating, riding motorcycles, reading and enjoying life.

Secretary/Treasurer – Drema Hill: Drema Hill has been the Administrative Assistant of the Randolph Baptist Association since June 2003. At that time, she joined both the NCBSA and the NASBS. Duties include keeping minutes of all associational meetings and maintaining the associational calendar, as well as the Associational Missionary’s calendar. She is responsible for a monthly newsletter, the book of reports and the Annual. She takes care of the media center and all finances of the association, as well as serving as Clerk of the Association and secretary to all leadership. She is responsible for maintaining a file on the pastors.

Drema attends Oakhurst Baptist Church in Asheboro where she has been a member since 1971. She serves in various capacities at the church.

Drema and her husband, Terry have been married 42 years. They had one son, Eric who was killed in the Marine Corp.
